The architectural complex of La Masia Catalana was created in 1974 as a theme park – a monument of rural life and the life of the Catalans. Initially, it was planned to devote the estate to Christmas traditions by arranging here a large-scale analogue of “whitewash” – a Christmas decoration depicting the baby Jesus in the stable with the Virgin, the donkey, the magi and so on.

Today in La Masia Catalana, visitors can see traditional objects of utensils and get acquainted with the daily affairs of rural residents of Catalonia. Going to many buildings of the estate, built in the traditional way from the clipped stones, you can see the genre expositions with inventory, vegetables and fruits from your own garden and real domestic animals and birds. For children on the territory there is a playground.

After the last reconstruction, a market of handicraft products was opened in the territory, which operates in the summer. There are about thirty shops in which you can buy souvenirs, jewelry, ceramics, handmade soaps and candles made from natural materials. Especially bright and attractive, the Catalan farmstead becomes during the Catholic Christmas: there is a fair with fun, treats and “live pictures”.
