Port Vell is part of the Barcelona port and is literally translated from Catalan as an old harbor. He significantly changed his appearance, falling under the city program to upgrade the city to the Olympic Games-1992. Before that, it was a seedy district of empty warehouses and half-ruined factories. Today Port Vell is one of the most attractive and visited pedestrian areas in the city, as well as a place from where you can go by ferry for a boat trip along the coast. There is also a small harbor with expensive yachts, a huge shopping center Maremagnum, the largest Aquarium in Europe and the spacious pedestrian alley Rambla del Mar.

The number of albatrosses and gulls in the port is impressive. For the entertainment of tourists there is a beautiful frigate. As they say, it is quite afloat and can go to sea.

For tourists the most interesting part of the port is the north-east. Here is the World Trade Center, and you can go for a walk.
