The historic buildings that adorn the Royal Plaza of Barcelona were once the residence of the Barcelona Counts, and later the kings. They are almost a thousand years old. It is a medieval chapel of St. Agatha with an altar, which is considered a masterpiece of Catalan Gothic architecture, the tower of King Martin with a viewing platform and observatory and directly a palace with a huge throne room Tinell, where once lavish events of national importance were held and even the Inquisition held that asserted that any perjury will destroy Tinell to the ground. And it was in this room that the famous discoverer of America, Christopher Columbus, announced to the kings of Spain about the discovery of the New World.

The beauty and luxury of the royal chambers can be admired: the palace is open to visitors all year round.

Entry 4 EUR, 2.5 EUR – for children.
