From today it is already working at full capacity and is located in front of the market, on Via Roma.
The next point will be installed on the Jaume I promenade, in the parking lot in front of Llevant beach.
Salou has put into service today a double point of recharge semi-fast for electric vehicles, the first to be launched in the municipality. The mayor, Pere Granados, accompanied by the Town Planning Councilor, Marc Montagut; of the councilor of Citizen Security and Mobility, David González and of the delegated councilor of Internal Services, Jesús Barragán; the Councilor for the Environment, Julia Gómez, in addition to the technical director of the Etecnic company, Edgar Cristóbal -in charge of the installation of the same- have connected the first of the electric vehicles in the network.
It is a semi-fast loading equipment, in which 2 vehicles can be loaded at a time, it is a device that has 22 kW and has the capacity to load a vehicle from 0 to 100% in a time between 2 and 4 hours according to the vehicle. To use this charger it will be necessary to have an RFID card so that the user of the electric vehicle can identify himself and use the charger. This can be requested from the City Council of Salou.
The charger can also be used by RFID cards of other municipalities that are attached to the alliance of municipalities for the interoperability of the Catalan Energy Institute, as adhered municipalities are: Barcelona , Cambrils, Lleida, Reus, Hospitalet de l’Infant , Amposta, Tortosa, Vilafranca del Penedès, Sitges, etc. Regarding the load characteristics, the point has 2 type 2 connectors, European standard connector specific for electric vehicles (mainly for cars and vans) and 2 Schuko type plugs (mainly for motorcycles, ATVs and bicycles).
At this point the recharge is free for all users as all loaders that are on the public road. The mayor, Pere Granados, stressed that “it is an action to encourage electric mobility, an action to decarbonize the planet, image of a municipality that respects the environment, and to favor the electric and hybrid vehicles we have in Salou, but also to the tourists that visit us “.
In fact, the current tax ordinances take into account the environmental measures with a 100% bonus of the road tax for the owners of electric vehicles and are also exempt from the payment of the blue zone, with the aim of achieving a lesser impact on the environment and 75% to those with hybrid vehicles; leaving aside the bonus that there was for historical vehicles, older than 25 years and more polluting. Once this first recharging point is underway, a second group is already being planned, which will be installed on the Jaume I promenade, in the parking area of the Llevant beach.
The cost of the installation was € 20,825.25 VAT included.
